The 40th Green and Blue Revue!

Wow it is hard to beleive that it has been 40 years since Lolly Gilgun started the Green and Blue Revue at the Joyce Middle School.

I remember being in it when I went to the school in the late 1970′s!

So here is a short video clip of the finale – the song is “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” and this year, the whole show was directed by Joyce Music teacher Sarah Bowe! Enjoy!

Meet Logan Foster

I had the opportunity to meet a very special youngster the other day – Woburn’s Logan Foster.

He is three years old and just had a brain tumor removed – he has Medullomyoblastoma cancer and it is very rare.

He visited the fire station and was treated like a king by Woburn Fire Lt Chris Haney and FF’s Scott Hall and Bill Stukey.

A fund has been started to help pay for his medical care which will be long and arduous as you may expect.

I got a photo of him an Lt Haney (attached).

I would ask that you keep this brave 3 year old in your prayers.

Flood Relief – Continued

If you read my last blog posting, you will know that I had a great time at the singer/songwriter workshop in Burlington at The Real School of Music recently.

So here I post the follow up to that night, and it has kinda taken on a life of its own, which I am proud to be a part of.

Woburn native, and Real School owner Tom Byrne who currently lives in Winchester, was able to get the band members of Enter the Haggis to set up a webpage to collect funds for Flood Relief in Eastern Massachusetts, and with some modifications, have been using my photos and video (YES VIDEO!!!) to promote it.

Here is a link to the page, where you can acquire the songs in their finished format, and if you chose, donate $5 to the flood relief fund, which will be given to the American Red Cross.

My First Attempt at Star Trails

My friend from Reading Mass Rick Nohl, recently posted his first attempt at doing Star Trail photos, and I have to admit it is something I have wanted to do for a long, long time. So tonight when the opportunity arose to put the camera in the back yard and take some long exposures, I figured what the heck!

This is actually 9 photos stacked together in Photoshop. My camera, the Nikon D300s, has a built in intervalometer, so I set it to take 9 30 second exposures, one right after another.

Then it took me about an hour to put it all together adjusting the layers so you could see everything. There is an airplane mid-right hand side of the frame, but I think that is inevitable given our proximity to Hanscom and Logan.

If you look closely at the trees, they look red, and I can only guess that that is the tail lights from the cars going down the street.

Comments and Critiques are always welcomed!

Woburn Police SRO Taekwondo Demo – COOL!

Tonight at Woburn High School, the Woburn Police School Resource Officer Program held a demonstration of Taekwondo. It was done in conjunction with local Taekwondo studio Ku’s.

Here are some photos, and a video of the event, that was attended by somewhere around 250 – 300 people.

As always, comments and critiques are welcomed!

Woburn Police Sergeant Paul Tenney breaks several boards. Sgt Tenney has been taking Taekwondo for several years.

Breaking some concrete blocks was also on tap.

WOW – This was an amazing stunt – this young man from Korea is in Middle School! All of the students were from the Midong Elementary School Demo Team from Korea.

Another great stunt – this young man broke all of the boards you see, and a few more in one continuous move – very cool!

Here is a video of the Grand Master breaking some boards! Enjoy!
